Dr. Ann Spanish
Dr. Ann Spanish was awarded her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 2006. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Spanish lives in Prior Lake with her two children, Ellie and Liam. The family pets include their cat Bubba and adorable dog, Lucy. During her free time, she enjoys baking, traveling, and gardening.
Dr. Elizabeth O’Brien
Dr. O’Brien was awarded her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 2009. Her special interests include preventative care and internal medicine. She is passionate about client education and fostering long-term relationships with families. Outside of the clinic, she lives with her family in Prior Lake. Together they share a shih tzu named Brown Brown and two cats named Marshmellow Potato Cakes and Junior. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the outdoors, crafting, and celebrating the holiday seasons.
Dr. Rachel Barnes
Dr. Rachel Barnes grew up as a well-traveled military child. She is a 2014 graduate of The Royal Veterinary College in London. After graduation, Dr. Barnes worked in a mixed animal practice in Northwest Iowa for a few years before she and her husband moved back to the Twin Cities in 2017. They have two sons, James and Malcolm, two cats named Chip and Elliot—who mostly like each other—and their heart-of-gold Golden Retriever, Hugo.
In her free time, when there is such a thing, she enjoys reading, gardening, and working out. Dr. Barnes joined the Shakopee Veterinary Clinic in January 2021. While she loves the variety of general practice, she also pursues her own particular interests, including ultrasonography, feline medicine, and surgery. She is passionate about helping clients keep their pets healthier and happier, and always has a soft spot for her friendly—and even feisty—feline patients.
Dr. Peyton Bush
Dr. Bush was born and raised in Fargo, ND where she developed a love for animals and a passion for science at a young age. She attended NDSU (Go Bison!) where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology; she then proceeded to make the big move to the Twin Cities for veterinary school. She received her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 2022. After vet school, she practiced in Austin, TX for a year before her Midwest roots called her home.
Dr. Bush’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and dermatology. Her favorite parts of her job are bonding with her patients (and their owners!) and educating owners to help them make the most informed decision that is best for them and their furry family members. At the clinic you can find her drinking coffee all day and cuddling every cat that walks through the door!
In her spare time, Dr. Bush can be found baking, working out or spending time with her two cats, Harper and Honeybee, and dog, Rey, and future husband, Matthew.

Dr. Melissa Adelmann-Lusignan
Dr. Melissa Adelmann-Lusignan is an Associated Veterinarian who graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and is passionate about partnering with pet owners to make thoughtful, informed decisions that support the health and well-being of their animals.
Dr. Adelmann-Lusignan values building strong relationships with clients and believes collaborative care leads to the best outcome for pets.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors; gardening and working on her hobby farm. She and her husband share their home with three Nubian goats- Charlie, Henry and Penny- two cats, Jack Jack and Harley, and a horse named George.
Danielle
Danielle was hired in January 2014. Her favorite part of the job is being a part of such a great team! She also loves meeting clients and the pets they love. Danielle is also a Certified Veterinary Technician and enjoys jumping in with the team to help when needed. Danielle has 3 cats (Angus, Cash, and Mama) and a dog (Lulu). In her free time, Danielle enjoys reading, and spending time at the cabin with her family and two kiddos (Cole & Kinley)!
