Dr. Rachel Barnes

Dr. Rachel Barnes is a 2014 graduate of The Royal Veterinary College in London, but most of her family hails from the Midwest. Growing up in a military family meant that the horizon changed every few years—living internationally in countries like India and the Bahamas, but also domestically on both coasts and in the Midwest. Thanks to this lifestyle, travel remains one of her biggest hobbies, and it also helped prepare her for the task of living in London for four years while earning her veterinary degree. After graduation, Dr. Barnes worked in a mixed animal practice in Northwest Iowa for a few years (seeing all manner of patients both large and small) before she and her husband packed up their belongings and, serenaded by their newborn son James and two noisy cats, moved back to the Twin Cities in a frigid January in 2017.

Since then, they have bought a home, welcomed their second son, Malcolm, in 2019, and enjoyed their time growing as a family. They have one cat at home, a slightly naughty 2-year-old named Chip. In her free time (if there is such as thing right now), she enjoys cooking, gardening, yoga, and ambitiously working on her own DIY house projects at home. Dr. Barnes has worked in small animal medicine since returning to the Cities and joined the team at the Shakopee Veterinary Clinic in January 2021. While she loves the variety of general practice, she also pursues her own particular interests including ultrasonography, feline medicine, and surgery. She is passionate about helping clients keep their pets healthier and happier, and always has a soft spot for her friendly—and even feisty—feline patient.

Dr. Annie Fisher

Dr Annie Fisher graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Her professional interests are dentistry and oral surgery, soft tissue surgery, and all things cats. She and her husband are originally from Philadelphia, having relocated to Minnesota in 2016. She has a son named Atlantis who keeps her on her toes as well as 3 cats and a Cavalier named Gobbit. In her spare time, she is an avid reader and gardener. Dr Fisher likes bringing her upbeat, sometimes goofy, outlook to the day-to-day happenings at Shakopee Vet Clinic.

Danielle

Danielle was hired in January 2014. Her favorite part of the job is being a part of such a great team! She also loves meeting clients and the pets they love. Danielle is also a Certified Veterinary Technician and enjoys jumping in with the team to help when needed. Danielle has 3 cats (Angus, Cash, and Mama) and a dog (Lulu). In her free time, Danielle enjoys reading, and spending time at the cabin with her family and two kiddos (Cole & Kinley)!
